Alex Kurtzman has overseen the entirety of 'Star Trek's modern era to date, and I'm starting to think it's just me who has enjoyed the ride.
Executive producer Alex Kurtzman has overseen Star Trek ever since the franchise returned in 2009 with the first of JJ Abrams' three Kelvin Timeline movies. Although it hasn't yet been fully confirmed that the Kurtzman era is over, the dismantling of key sets and the general winding down of production certainly make it seem like Paramount won't be renewing its deal with Kurtzman when it expires later this year. Many are celebrating this possibility, which implies they believe that Kurtzman offered very little of value to the beloved space opera. If so, I very much beg to differ.
