Trent Williams and the San Francisco 49ers agreed to a two-year extension worth $50 million that keeps him tied to the organization through 2027.
There will be no more contract drama – at least this offseason – between the San Francisco 49ers and one of the league's most dominant offensive linemen. Left tackle Trent Williams agreed to a two-year, $50 million extension that will keep him tied to the team through the 2027 season, his representatives announced on social media. The deal includes $37 million fully guaranteed and a $22 million signing bonus. Williams was not guaranteed any money on his previous deal for the 2026 season.
The Niners declined a $10 million option bonus in March and reached a contract impasse, but general manager John Lynch told reporters at the league meeting later that month in Arizona that there was momentum toward a deal. Williams, who will be 38 at the start of next season, will be the first non-quarterback in NFL history to surpass $400 million in earnings and $225 million in guarantees, per his agency. Williams has been selected to the Prow Bowl in 12 of the last 13 seasons (only missing out in 2024, when he was limited to 10 games).
In 2025, he was named second-team All-Pro. Williams spent the first nine seasons of his career with Washington and joined San Francisco in 2020. This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Trent Williams' new San Francisco 49ers' contract sets records
