New 2027 Texas A&M WR commit Jaden Upshaw stated to 247Sports that he wants to play with a fellow blue-chip WR prospect in the cycle.

Texas A&M's 2026 Maroon & White Game will serve as the 15th spring practice and another key opportunity to host a wide range of 2027 prospects, including five-star offensive lineman Mark Matthews, who made his way to campus on Thursday. On Wednesday, the Aggies landed their 12th commitment in the 2027 cycle, as four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw made things official ahead of his official visit next month. Upshaw, who is Rivals' 12th-ranked wide receiver prospect with elite potential due to his versatility, physicality, size, and, quoting 247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins, "aggressive field demeanor," new Texas A&M offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins will have plenty of talent to work with for years to come at wide receiver, knowing that Upshaw will join the Aggies' current freshman wide receiver rotation led by current spring standout Aaron Gregory. After his live commitment on Wednesday, Upshaw spoke with 247Sports, and when asked which fellow 2027 prospect he would like to play with at Texas A&M, and for the blue-chip recruit, he didn't need to think about his answer, quickly stating that fellow four-star wide receiver Eric McFarland, who recently received a prediction to land with the Aggies.New WR coach John Perry, who coached the likes of DeAndre Hopkins and others during his time with the Houston Texans, played a significant role in landing Upshaw, while Holmon Wiggins will continue to make an impact on the recruiting trail at the position even after his promotion.

According to 247Sports, Eric McFarland is currently positioned as the 33rd-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 6th-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Florida.
