Despite critical acclaim, Memoria, Apichatpong Weerasethakul's 2021 film starring Tilda Swinton, still isn’t available on U.S. streaming platforms.

Some will tell you it’s a death knell for cinema, but streaming does have one nice advantage: For the millions of Americans without an arthouse theater in town, even the most obscure films can eventually find a home on PVOD or SVOD. While even the best living room setup can’t fully compete with the theatrical experience, it's still nice to have streaming services like The Criterion Channel, Mubi, and Kanopy there as a virtual home for the films you won’t find at your local multiplex or marquee streamers like Netflix or Prime Video.
