Mizzou and Marquette are going to play in Chicago.Missouri basketball and Marquette are close to finalizing a Nov. 15 neutral-site game at United Center in Chicago, a source familiar with the arrangement told the Columbia Daily Tribune on Tuesday. United Center is the home of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks.Jon Rothstein at CBS Sports first reported the news. The tipoff time and TV designation for the game will be announced at a later date.Neither Missouri nor Marquette have officially confirmed the game date yet, but teams often don’t release their full nonconference schedules until the summer before the season begins.

Coaches and team staffers typically spend some of the spring months after a season ends organizing nonconference game dates and opponents for the upcoming season.Mizzou and Marquette have played nine times before, most recently in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2009 — a game Mizzou won 83-79 en route to the program’s last Sweet 16 appearance.Marquette is coached by Shaka Smart, who has been at the helm since 2021.
