Ali Fazal is set to explore a wide range of roles in 2026, balancing contrasting genres across some of his upcoming projects, including Mirzapur The Film and Lust Stories 3. The actor will return to the intense world of Mirzapur, a franchise that has been a defining part of his career, while also taking on action-driven narratives like Raakh. At the same time, he is expected to appear in a markedly different space with Lust Stories 3, where he will be seen in a more romantic and restrained role.

Adding to this mix is Batwara 1947 (earlier titled Lahore 1947), a period drama set around India’s independence, further expanding the range of stories he is part of this year. Speaking about this phase in his career, Ali said, “2026 honestly feels like one of the most creatively fulfilling years I’ve had in a while. I’ve always believed that as an actor, you should constantly put yourself in uncomfortable spaces, and this year is no different.” He further reflected on moving between genres, adding, “On one hand, I’m revisiting the world of Mirzapur, which is raw and physically demanding, and on the other, I’m stepping into stories that require a completely different emotional language, whether it’s romance, thrill or something more restrained.” Highlighting what drives him as an actor, he said, “What excites me is this constant shift in energy.

There’s action, there’s romance, there’s thrill, and each space demands a different version of me, not just physically but emotionally as well.” With multiple projects across genres, Ali Fazal’s upcoming slate reflects a deliberate shift towards varied storytelling, as he continues to take on roles that move beyond a single screen image.
