Forward Nicholas Robertson is one of the players whose future is unclear. In recent statements, Robertson, 24, admitted that he is unsure what the future holds.
It should be remembered that the winger recently concluded his contract."I'm gonna, not gonna take a deep dive in my future. I don't know what my future holds," Robertson said, according to The Leafs Nation. He added, "But I will say that everyone here has been unbelievable with me. For my family, for me, guys here this year, I love these guys."Robertson appeared in 78 games with Toronto this season, recording 16 goals and 16 assists for a total of 32 points. His performance was below expectations, but much of it also had to do with the fact that multiple forwards on the Canadian franchise were being watched very closely, because it was expected that one of them would take the lead left by Mitch Marner, who left for the Vegas Golden Knights last year. A somewhat unfair expectation, considering the little ice time given to him by head coach Craig Berube.Robertson concluded the one year of his $1.825 million deal and will be a restricted free agent this summer, still at 24 years old.The Leafs have yet to hire a general manager or president of hockey operations since the dismissal of Brad Treliving, so it remains unclear which players the franchise will count on and which it will not for next season.More NHL news:Maple Leafs announce just the right move as season officially endsMaple Leafs fans are going to love Toronto's newest signingMaple Leafs coach Craig Berube sends 'fabulous' message to fansInsider reveals Maple Leafs' blueprint after dismissing Brad TrelivingMaple Leafs coach Craig Berube confirms lineup changes coming
