After years of wondering what good quarterback recruiting might look like at Notre Dame, I think we get the idea.

Get out there and RUN it.THE KING OF NOTRE DAMEWe are still a few weeks away from May Crowning within the Catholic Church, but it really feels like a crowning just happened this past weekend during Notre Dame Football’s jersey scrimmage. CJ Carr is a really good quarterback, and most of us already knew that because we have eyes.

The junior signal caller is at the top of most Heisman lists, and we’ve all professed a belief in him being one of the best in 2026. And yet… after the scrimmage, there were many that were still blown away by what they saw from CJ Carr. Here’s the thing about CJ Carr‘s performance in the scrimmage.

It looked like he broke into the office of Chris Ash last night, copied the call sheet and knew all the defensive plays before they were run. It just seems like Carr has an answer for everything.— Pete Sampson (@PeteSampson_) April 18, 2026Notre Dame quarterback praise over the last couple of decades (at least) generally comes with a “but” or two, BUT CJ Carr seems to have officially kicked all of that to the side as he sits down on his throne. It’s hard to say just how much we will actually see in the Blue-Gold Game this upcoming weekend, but so far this is the best spring performance of a Notre Dame quarterback in recent memory.

Break out the trumpets — because the king is here.THE LINE OF SUCCESSION Predictions are coming in for a new quarterback commitment for the class of 2027. Wonderful Monds IV, a 6’3” 225 pounder from Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, Florida, and after a visit to Notre Dame this past weekend, recruiting predictions for Monds to commit to Notre Dame have been made on both 247 and On3. While there’s a decent chance some of you may not be familiar with Monds, don’t let his current QB ranking fool you.

Monds was the #1 ranked QB in the 2028 class until he reclassified to the 2027 class back in December.BREAKING: Elite 2028 QB Wonderful “Champ” Monds IV has reclassified to the 2027 Class, he tells me for @rivalsThe 6’3 215 QB from Port St. Lucie, FL was ranked as the No. 1 QB in the 2028 Rivals300https://t.co/xSJjXhR1Wzpic.twitter.com/KklLJUPpyK— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) December 31, 2025This same type of thing happened for Notre Dame in its 2026 class with quarterback, Teddy Jarrard (who reclassified to the 2026 class after being one of the top QB’s in the 2027 class). Notre Dame has figured out a clear line of succession that would put the Windsor family to shame.

TROJAN SHADEThe University of Spoiled Children made some noise this weekend — NO OF COURSE IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ACTUALLY BEING GOOD AT FOOTBALL… as if. USC decided to make a video which tries to toss shade at not only Notre Dame, but UCLA and Oregon as well. The internet as a whole reminded Southern Cal of Notre Dame’s decade of domination (which has actually has been a decade and a half with Notre Dame holding an 11-4 record during the last 15 games).

USC continues taking shots after winning recruiting battles. The Trojans are firing shots at Notre Dame with a remake of Notre Dame's 'Think Big' video and a voiceover from Chad Bowden saying "Think Bigger." USC also takes digs at ND, Oregon and UCLA with license plate messages. https://t.co/D0nxZh4az7pic.twitter.com/pxdxE8JxMS— Matt Freeman (@mattfreeman05_) April 17, 2026DAILY JEREMIYAH LOVE TRACKERThe NFL Draft starts this Thursday night, so we only have a few more days to wonder, debate, and predict how Jeremiyah Love will break the NFL Draft. Now it appears that we may see a big trade deal (possibly) for some team to bolt up the draft order to lock down the best player in the NFL Draft at pick #3.

Even though he will not go No. 1, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love is considered by many to be the best player in this class and could become the first running back drafted in the top five picks since the Giants selected Saquon Barkley No. 2 in 2018. There are some who believe he could go as high as No. 3 to Arizona and no lower than No. 7 to Washington, which has been pushing to upgrade its backfield in each of the past two offseasons. There is growing chatter in league circles that Love is truly in play at the high end of that range with Arizona. Ideally, the Cardinals would like to find a team willing to trade up so they can acquire more picks, and there have already been “exploratory” calls, as one source described it, regarding the No. 3 selection.

But if the Cardinals hold on to their pick, some around the league believe they could pull an early draft surprise and select Love in a slot slightly higher than he has been projected to go.Even if Love does not wind up going No. 3, he will not slide far. The Command
