Taking to Instagram, Knoxville shared a video detailing the incident. In the caption of the video, he explained what happened.
“Apparently, people thought a plane had crashed yesterday in Simi Valley,” Knoxville wrote in a post on Instagram, which showed a cloud of smoke. “Little did they know it was from a monstrous explosion @jemfxpopov created for us for the final day ever of @jackass filming.” Knoxville continued in the post, “We were standing near the explosion and couldn’t believe what we were seeing. Immediately after, the entire cast went and hugged @jemfxpopov’s neck.

Coming to theater June 26th, Jackass: Best and Last.” Jackass was co-created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and Knoxville as a TV series in 2000. It ran for three seasons on MTV.
After the series concluded, there were multiple film spin-offs, including Jackass: The Movie, Jackass Number Two, Jackass 3D, and Jackass Forever. The franchise will conclude with the fifth and final film, Jackass: Best and Last. The trailer for the film premiered during CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The film will hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
