Two Barcelona stars considered for player-plus-cash deal for Alessandro Bastoni – reportAlessandro Bastoni is FC Barcelona’s main target for next season. The club are clear that they need to reinforce a position left weakened after the departure of Inigo Martinez. In this regard, the preferred choice is the Inter Milan defender.Talks are still at an early stage.

There have only been contacts between both clubs, but no formal discussions have yet taken place. Bastoni is under contract until 2028, meaning a sizeable transfer fee would be required.Despite not being at his best level at present, the defender remains one of the most highly valued players in European football. As such, Inter would begin negotiations based on his current valuation, which is around €70 million. Barcelona are not in a position to pay such an amount, meaning players would need to be included in the deal.Gerard Martin discussed as possible makeweightGerard Martin was discussed as a possible makeweight but ruled out by Barcelona. Barcelona may therefore consider including players in the operation. One possible replacement for Inter could be Gerard Martin, reports SPORT, although Barcelona’s sporting department is reluctant to part with the former UE Cornella player.Gerard recently renewed his contract with a release clause of €100 million. The signing of Bastoni is intended to strengthen the position, not to carry out a direct exchange between players.

It should also be noted that Martin can play both as a centre-back and as a left-back, contributing significantly to the team, and as such, his departure is not being considered.Roony Bardghji a more likely candidateRoony Bardghji could be an option. The 20-year-old Swede has attracted interest from several European clubs and has considerable potential. Signed for just €2 million, his current valuation has risen to around €15 million, making him a potentially valuable asset in negotiations.Inter are also looking to renew their goalkeeping position, currently occupied by Yann Sommer, 37, and are interested in Barcelona academy prospect Aron Yaakobishvili, who is on loan at FC Andorra. The foundations of the operation are therefore beginning to take shape, but it is expected to be a difficult negotiation and could become one of the major transfer sagas of the summer.
