The Atlanta Falcons' new front office regime met with beat reporters yesterday. General manager Ian Cunningham and head coach Kevin Stefanski both answered questions about their plans for the 2026 NFL Draft, as well as some of the team's most-recent additions.Asked about the strengths of this draft class, Cunningham mentioned safety, cornerback and edge on defense - but it was his comments on the wide receiver crop that were most interesting, and perhaps the most revealing.Here's what Cunningham had to say about the 2026 class of wide receivers, per Tori McElhaney."You have guys that fit certain flavors, whether they are big, physical, possession-type guys, or those slots who can get in and out of breaks and get open and move the chains...
It's really a pick-your-flavor position, I think."It's a given that the Falcons will be targeting at least one wide receiver on Day 2 - the most recent projections have them taking either Georgia State's Ted Hurst or Clemson's Antonio Williams at the No. 48 overall spot in Round 2.However, Cunningham's comments could be read as an indication that he feels this WR group is deep enough and diverse enough to hold off targeting one until the third round. That would enable him to attack the team's top defensive need first, a new potential long-term starter at nose tackle.Further, the part about the different skill sets of this class could be a sign that Atlanta plans to take more than one wide receiver this weekend.
