It's rare nowadays to see a franchise so consistent as Dune, and that's mainly because of Denis Villeneuve's film trilogy. As expectations rise for the upcoming release of Dune: Part Three, though, many people forget (or perhaps don't know) that there's actually more to it than just the movies. The franchise has expanded into television; in 2024, a prequel series,Dune: Prophecy,premiered on HBO Max, telling a completely new story set within the same universe as the movies, but millennia before the rise of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet).
