Introducing a battle pass to ESO could have been a cynical way to squeeze money out of an old MMORPG, but instead, they're putting an end to FOMO.

The last two Elder Scrolls Online Directs have been a much-needed longfin pasty to the gullet, as Zenimax pulled back the curtain and leveled with the community on future plans to address pain points and claw itself out from under the monotonous routine of yearly chapters. I don’t need to tell the community how media-trained Bethesda is, but it’s been invigorating to hear devs speak openly and honestly for a change, stripping back the cynical corporate feel that has weighed down an otherwise brilliant MMORPG in recent years.
