Daigneault discussed limiting Devin Booker in Game 1 and how that remains a tall task. Dort believes Jalen Williams is fully back now after dealing with injuries. Hartenstein also talked about one of his signature passes and the origins of it.Here's what else happened at OKC's Monday, Apr. 20 media availability:Mark Daigneault on Devin Booker’s Game 1: “He's tough because obviously he's got all the answers.

There's a reason he's as good of a player as he is. 16 of his 17 shots were contested by us. That was a good thing. He obviously can still have 23 points when you do that.” pic.twitter.com/laBB72XD9U— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Mark Daigneault on Jalen Williams’ 5 3-pointers in Game 1: “You’re going to have to shoot those shots.

When they're available to you, you're probably not getting a better shot on the possession than a pretty good 3… That's a lesson he learned from his first playoffs.” pic.twitter.com/i8Veo3aWHJ— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Mark Daigneault on Ajay Mitchell’s Game 1: “It was a huge point of emphasis yesterday to get him in there early and often, knowing he didn't play a ton of playoff games last year, but that he'd be a really important part of our team this year… He plays way beyond his years.” pic.twitter.com/vlE8QN5oTa— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Mark Daigneault on how Thunder can improve from their 35-point Game 1 win over the Suns: “Details… Understanding that if you're static in a series, that's how the other team catches up to you.” pic.twitter.com/esHE30nPSb— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Mar Daigneault on Jaylin Williams’ pick-and-roll defense: “That’s one of our best development stories, to be honest with you. The offense is going to force your pick-and-roll defense to be a huge part of your development plan.” pic.twitter.com/6C5ceauuhn— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Isaiah Hartenstein on Chet Holmgren’s rebounding: “I think since I've been here, he's gotten better at rebounding.

Just be more aggressive to go rebound. Even just boxing out. He's a lot better at that, just being more stable and not being pushed aside so easily.” pic.twitter.com/8KGlAx2ING— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Isaiah Hartenstein on Mark Williams possibly returning this series: “It’s a different look but I think we’ll be ready for whoever they have.

We have what it takes no matter who’s on the court.” pic.twitter.com/E8fR4nnoxa— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Isaiah Hartenstein on Chet Holmgren: “I think in general, he just gotten stronger. I think he got more stable. You have to give him a lot of credit.

Just the work he puts in the weight room, the work he puts in the offseason.” pic.twitter.com/GBHMlbFWvo— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Isaiah Hartenstein on his signature between-the-legs bounce pass: “I watched a lot of Golden State when Draymond and Bogut used to do it.” pic.twitter.com/SbcfEH59Hj— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Lu Dort on being a film junkie: “I started my rookie year. Rookie year you get in and want to learn as much stuff as you can. It became part of my routine.

Just being able to watch film. And obviously, I know I got a lot of good players on the other side.” pic.twitter.com/RwG77BntIg— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Lu Dort on Cason Wallace’s defense: “He leads the league in steals. That says it all.

The way he’s active with his hands is not really easy to do. I’ve been trying.” pic.twitter.com/liwdFG1S2T— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026Lu Dort believes Jalen Williams is back at his peak: “He’s been out for so long. We all knew it was going to take some time for him to get back to himself.

But he is now. He's confident, real aggressive.” pic.twitter.com/ux3mZgtBJY— Clemente Almanza (@CAlmanza1007) April 20, 2026This article originally appeared on OKC Thunder Wire: Recap: What OKC Thunder said on Monday, Apr. 20
