The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended six customs officers, including senior officials, after further investigation into the silver swap case revealed evidence of involvement, negligence and inefficiency. According to a statement issued on Sunday, those suspended include a Collector of Customs in BS-20, a deputy collector in BS-18, an assistant collector in BS-17 and three officials in BS-16. The FBR said a criminal investigation is in progress and individuals found directly involved will be charged under FIR No 01 dated April 13, 2026.

It added that other beneficiaries identified in the case will also face legal action. To ensure an independent inquiry, three new officers have been posted to the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement in Quetta, replacing the previous team. A new Collector and Additional Collector have already taken charge. The FBR said it maintains a policy of zero tolerance for corruption and that disciplinary action will be taken against any official found involved, regardless of rank.
