At least 404 candidates in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections have declared serious criminal cases against them, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms and Tamil Nadu Election Watch. In total, 722 candidates have pending criminal cases. The report is based on affidavits filed by candidates ahead of the polls.
