Florida women's basketball coach Tammi Reiss announced the signing of TCU Horned Frogs transfer guard Taliyah Parker on Sunday.
Florida women's basketball head coach Tammi Reiss announced that TCU Horned Frogs transfer Taliyah Parker has signed with the Gators, giving the Orange and Blue a lengthy, versatile guard. The 6-foot-1-inch rising junior is no stranger to starting new. After one season with the Texas A&M Aggies, Parker transferred to TCU for the 2025-26 season and appeared in 20 games for the Horned Frogs before an injury cut her season short and forced her to miss the NCAA Tournament.
Parker's freshman year at Texas A&M showed the same pattern of promise interrupted by injury. She averaged 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in 18 minutes before missing the back end of the season. When she was healthy and on the floor, she was capable of big nights, including a career-high 14 points against Syracuse and 13 points at LSU.Parker arrived in college as the No. 60 overall recruit and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas in the class of 2024, according to ESPN HoopGurlz.
She led South Grand Prairie High School to the 2024 UIL 6A State Championship game on a team that went 33-4, earning All-State honors along the way.Welcome home Taliyah🐊🗞️: https://t.co/7t4njTE8DCpic.twitter.com/xDgd5dUoZh— Gators Women’s Basketball (@GatorsWBK) April 19, 2026Staying healthy has been the challenge, and Florida will be banking on a fresh start being exactly what Parker needs.Reiss made clear she has no doubts about what Parker can do when she is right."I'm so happy to welcome Taliyah (Parker) to our Gators family," Reiss said. "She is an incredible athlete on both sides of the ball, and possesses speed, size and length.
She has an explosive first step and has the ability to really attack the rim. "Taliyah is a three-level scorer with the ability to face up and play with her back to the basket. She is fantastic in transition with her speed and explosiveness, and a very intelligent, hard-working, team oriented, competitive young woman.
Taliyah brings such a positive light and energy to any room she walks into. "I'm thrilled that I get to coach her and help her find her joy and the success she is looking for on the court."Follow us @GatorsWire on X, formerly known as Twitter, as well as Bluesky, and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Florida Gators news, notes and opinions. This article originally appeared on Gators Wire: Florida women's basketball adds TCU transfer Taliyah Parker
