(Photo Credit: Prime Video) Prime Video has finally shared the official trailer for Citadel Season 2, the long-awaited next installment of the spy action series from Joe and Anthony Russo. The show is expected to return sometime this year, nearly three years after its debut season concluded its 6-episode run. “Citadel is a heart-racing spy thriller following Mason Kane (Richard Madden), Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), and Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) – elite operatives of a legendary agency destroyed by Manticore, a ruthless network backed by the world’s most powerful families.

When a terrifying new threat emerges, the three are pulled back into action. Now they must recruit an unlikely team of skilled new operatives and launch a globe-spanning mission to stop a conspiracy that could reshape humanity. With blockbuster action, shocking betrayals, and an expanded ensemble of mysterious agents, the stakes have never been higher – and anyone could be friend or foe,” says the official description.

Citadel Season 2 will once again be led by Richard Madden as Mason Kane and Priyanka Chopra as Nadia Sinh. They are joined by returning cast members Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer and Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick.

Season 2 will also introduce new characters, played by Matt Berry, Jack Reynor, Rahul Kohli, Michael Trucco, Merle Dandridge, and Gabriel Leone. The series is executive-produced by the Russo brothers through their AGBO banner, with David Weil serving as the showrunner. Season 1 was written and executive-produced by Midnight Radio’s Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.

Executive producers are Weil, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes. The spy thriller was originally developed as a global franchise consisting of multiple non-English spin-offs. However, the streamer’s first two Citadel spin-offs, Diana (Italian) and Honey Bunny (Indian), were all cancelled a year ago after one season. Because of this, the main series’ future after Season 2 is currently unclear.
