ESPN's Jordan Reid released his final full 7-round NFL mock draft. Which directions do the Detroit Lions head?

The 2026 NFL draft is now just days away.As the league rolls into the Steel City for the draft, NFL analysts are publishing their final set of predictions. ESPN's Jordan Reid rolled out his final seven-round mock draft.Who does ESPN's Jordan Reid have the Detroit Lions drafting?ESPN's 7-round NFL mock draft for Detroit LionsFirst Round (No. 17): Monroe Freeling, Georgia OTSecond Round (No. 50): Derrick Moore, Michigan EDGEFourth Round (No. 118): Jonah Coleman, Washington RBFourth Round (No. 128): Bryce Boettcher, Oregon LBFifth Round (No. 157): Zane Durant, Penn State DTFifth Round (No. 181): Riley Nowakowski, Indiana TESixth Round (No. 205): Aaron Graves, Iowa EDGESixth Round (No. 213): Vinny Anthony II, Wisconsin WRSeventh Round (No. 222): Sawyer Robertson, Baylor QBOverall, a solid draft by Reid for the Lions.

Detroit selects two popular mocks in Freeling at offensive tackle and Moore at EDGE with its first two choices.Given some of the other roster needs, drafting a running back with its third selection in this draft is the one item in this mock that I'm not crazy about. The Lions signed a veteran back to pair with Jahmyr Gibbs in free agency in Isaiah Pacheco, so there's not a great immediate need in the backfield. It's good to see the Lions drafting a linebacker in the middle rounds and some more defensive line help along the way. Detroit looks for some tight end and wide receiver help, too.One other item that I like about this mock draft: The Lions don't reach for a backup quarterback in the middle rounds.

There's been some other mocks out there that have Detroit doing that, and it just feels like a wasted draft pick for a Lions franchise in win-now mode. Draft players with those top six or seven picks that are expected to go help you win a championship right now.For more Lions coverage, follow us on X, @TheLionsWire, and give our Facebook page a like.
