I’m beyond pissed. Last round of sparring, wrong position and a kick to the knee. Torn meniscus.“The plan and goal were clear, so the disappointment is huge.

But this isn’t the end! I’m already working on getting back as soon as possible. Coming back to finish things on my own terms. … See you soon!”Blachowicz and Guskov were set to run it back after they fought to a majority draw at UFC 323 this past December.

In their first meeting, Guskov appeared to have the win in hand after he battered Blachowicz in the second round, but Blachowicz scored a late knockdown to force the stalemate on the judges’ scorecards.A rematch between the two was later announced for UFC 328. It is not yet known if the matchup will be re-booked depending on Blachowicz’s recovery timetable or if the promotion is aiming to book a new opponent for Guskov. The past few years have been difficult for Blachowicz, who has not won a fight since May 2022. Since defeating Aleksandar Rakic, the 43-year-old has gone to draws against Guskov and Magomed Ankalev, and lost to Carlos Pereira and Alex Pereira.UFC 328 takes place May 9 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. It is headlined by a pair of title fights with Khamzat Chimaev defending the middleweight belt against Sean Strickland in the main event, and flyweight champion Joshua Van facing Tatsuroa Taira in the co-main event.
