Funding activity in the Indian startup ecosystem took a sharp hit this week. Homegrown new-age tech companies collectively managed to raise just $60.4 Mn across 15 deals between April 13 and 17. This marks an 83% week-on-week decline from $361.5 Mn raised across 23 deals in the previous week.

Ice cream brand HOCCO raised $10.7 Mn from Sauce.vc, which emerged as the largest deal in the segment this week AI emerged as the most funded startup segment this week, with two startups raising $23 Mn in total.

Fireside Ventures emerged as the most active investor this week, backing two startups – Unbound and Dev Milk Foods. Seed-stage funding crashed almost 86% to $3.3 Mn this week compared to $22.9 Mn last week. Other Developments This Week Ecommerce giant Flipkart is planning to raise a pre-IPO round of $2 Bn to $2.5 Bn from Indian as well as foreign investors.

The IndiaAI Mission has selected 10 homegrown AI startups for the second cohort of its ‘IndiaAI Startups Global Acceleration Programme’. The selected companies include Awiros, Flaunt, PredCo, SkyServe, among others. Shadowfax acquired the remaining 10.41% stake in logistics company Criticalog India Private Limited, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of the listed startup.
