The Georgia Bulldogs will be without cornerback Ellis Robinson for the spring game after he underwent ankle surgery, per a Graham Coffey report
The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to be without star cornerback Ellis Robinson for their spring game. Robinson, according to a report from Dawg Central's Graham Coffey, is out for the G-Day game after suffering a high ankle sprain. The redshirt sophomore cornerback elected to undergo TightRope surgery on his ankle.
In the past, Georgia players like offensive lineman Tate Ratledge and tight end Brock Bowers underwent TightRope surgery to return later in the season. Robinson will look to return in time for the start of Georgia's fall camp. His injury will be something to watch later this summer.
Robinson reportedly suffered his injury on Georgia's practice on Tuesday, which was the same day that edge rusher Amaris Williams suffered a serious knee injury. Williams is expected to miss the entire 2026 season. Robinson will be missed while he is out.
He played a critical role in Georgia's 2025 SEC championship win over Alabama. If Robinson misses time, then Georgia's cornerback depth will be tested this season. The Bulldogs are expected to start Robinson, who was named as the nation's defensive freshman of the year in 2025, and Demello Jones at outside cornerback this year.
Beyond Robinson and Jones, Georgia has Oklahoma transfer Gentry Williams and USC transfer Braylon Conley at cornerback.Robinson is one of nine Georgia players that is not expected to play in the spring game. The Bulldogs play in their annual spring scrimmage on Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. ET. G-Day will be televised on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.Follow UGA Wire on Instagram or Threads for more Georgia football coverage! This article originally appeared on UGA Wire: Star Georgia CB Ellis Robinson reportedly out for spring game
