Will Stein and the Kentucky Wildcats have their spring game today at Kroger Field. Here's how to follow the Kentucky football scrimmage in Lexington.
LEXINGTON — Kentucky football takes the field for its first spring game under new coach Will Stein today.Stein has previously stated why an intrasquad scrimmage is essential for the Wildcats. Now, fans know the format and scoring system they'll see during today's contest at Kroger Field.UK will split the roster into blue and white teams, with the offense wearing the former color and the defense taking the latter. There will be four 15-minute quarters, with the potential for a running clock in the second half.In terms of scoring, the offense earns six points for a touchdown, three for a field goal and one for an extra point.
A two-point conversion from the 2-yard line is worth two points, while a "two-point conversion" from the 10 is a four-point play.Defensively, the unit nets six points for a touchdown or turnover, three points for notching a three-and-out and one point for a forced punt. While Kentucky will end on the right side of the scoreboard whether the offense or defense "wins" the game, Stein set multiple objectives for his team to achieve."Play clean," he said. "Can we get lined up with fans in the stands? Can we call a play correctly in the huddle with fans out there?
Are we gonna let that moment dictate our process? Or are we gonna say, 'Hey, this is the process, regardless if there's one person watching or 65,000?'"So I think that's the big thing."Here's what to know about the Wildcats' spring game today:What channel is Kentucky football spring game today?Kentucky football's spring will not be televised or streamed.
