It hasn’t exactly been the smoothest start to the year for Jason Statham. His first new release arrived in January with Shelter, which initially built strong momentum after earning the best reviews for any Statham-led action film in a decade. The movie centers on Michael Mason, a reclusive man living on a remote Scottish island who saves a girl from the ocean, setting off a dangerous chain of events that ultimately leads to an attack on his home and forces him to face his past.

Shelter carried a $50 million budget, meaning it needed around $100 million to break even, but it ultimately fell short, bringing in just $49 million at the box office. Since then, however, it has found a second life on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV.
