Oregon Ducks running back Jordon Davison says he's back on track and healthy after suffering an injury in last season's Orange Bowl victory.

We'll never know whether it would have made a difference or not, but Oregon missed its running back Jordon Davison in last year's Peach Bowl against Indiana. That game started on such a bad note that having Davison on the field probably wouldn't have mattered all that much, but you just hate to end the season with such a big "what if."Davison injured his shoulder in the previous game, a 23-0 win over Texas Tech in the Orange. One would have never known the Duck tailback was injured for most of the game. He led the team with 42 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

"It actually happened really early in the game. I had like an idea that something was wrong with my shoulder, but I wasn't sure what it was until after the game. It was just kind of lingering," Davison said.

"I was devastated not to be able to play in the Peach Bowl, just not being able to be there for the guys, like on the field physically, but just trying to stay mentally engaged.”Oregon missed Davison on the field, but since the Ducks were playing catch-up after the first play of the game with Dante Moore throwing a Pick-6 en route to a 56-22 loss, Davison's role with the offense might have been diminished anyway. Unfortunately, no one will ever know, and the only thing the Ducks can do is not dwell on it and look to the future, where Davison will play a huge role in the Oregon offense in 2026.Thankfully for the Ducks, Davison is getting back to 100%, and should be ready to go by fall.“I'm on track right now, just trying to get back in the groove," he said. "Just trust my pads and trust my shoulder and stuff like that.”Contact/Follow @Ducks_Wire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Oregon Ducks news, notes, and opinions. This article originally appeared on Ducks Wire: Jordon Davison ‘on track’ after suffering injury in Oregon Orange Bowl
