When the talk turned to legacy and the expectation that she chronicle her career in print, Streep didn’t hesitate to explain why she won’t write a memoir.

Meryl Streep addresses the prospect of writing a memoir Meryl Streep recently confronted the enduring question of whether she would ever write a memoir. In addressing it, she defined how she wanted her career to be remembered, through her films, not her words. Streep shot back, saying, “Too boring. Seriously.” Meryl Streep does, however, enjoy reading memoirs by other celebrities. She read Barbra Streisand’s 2023 memoir My Name Is Barbra and called it fantastic.
