This is looking at changing the FBS football calendar to have everyone start the year on what is currently Week 0, the weekend before Labor Day. The regular season would still end Thanksgiving weekend, making the two bye-week schedule that happens every so often permanent. The hope is that this creates more flexibility in the CFB schedule, including the potential for changes to the playoffs.

It will now be discussed in June, and if approved, it will go into effect for the 2027 season. Nevada’s Elijah Price and UNLV’s Tyrin Jones come next, as both are major retainments for their schools. Wyoming has three of the remaining seven players, while Grand Canyon has two of its own. Plus, Nevada and New Mexico have another on the list, too.
