Nebraska softball was ranked at the top of the NCAA top 25 for the first time in school history.

Nebraska softball is the top team in the newest Softball America rankings released on Monday morning. Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas Tech, and UCLA round out the top five.The latest ranking comes off a strong weekend for the program. The Huskers dominated Minnesota, sweeping them by a combined score of 32-4.

The sweep extended their winning streak to 11 straight games and has seen them win 25 of the last 26. This included a 12-game road winning streak, the longest streak in the countryWith the sweep, the program took possession of first place in the Big Ten standings. Up next for the program is a game against Omaha on Tuesday.
