They're last in homers, sixth in errors and several of their best players are struggling, from Roman Anthony and Jarren Duran to Garrett Crochet and Trevor Story.On Monday, WEEI radio announcer Will Flemming joined "The Greg Hill Show" to discuss Boston's alarming start."It just is not going the way that it needed to go to start this season," Flemming said.

"And I think the frustrating thing, Greg, is that a lot of the things that all of us worried about going into the season are coming true. When you did hit home runs and you don't really slug, it's really hard to win games... It's a really tough way to go."Lack of power has been an issue for the Red Sox dating back to last season.

They ranked 27th in home runs after trading Rafael Devers and are 30th in homers this year.It's not going well... Period, full stop. And unfortunately, that does start with Garrett Crochet," Flemming added. "That's the thing that worries me the most about what's going on right now, is that maybe, after you pushed him to an innings limit last year, maybe there's just a little bit of a regression this year."Crochet led the American League in innings last year with 205 1/3, by far the most of his career.
