ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Two of the big offseason questions every year are which first-year players are impressing and who is the fastest player on the team. While we already know the primary answer to the former is running back Savion Hiter, what if there's another speedy player who happens to be a true freshman?On Saturday, after the spring game, WolverinesWire asked Hiter which fellow early enrollee has impressed him the most. And given that we'd seen some solid play from wide receiver Salesi Moa, some timely hard hits from linebacker Markel Dabney, and some big runs from fellow tailback Jonathan Brown, it was a surprise to hear Hiter's answer come by the way of another."Travis Johnson, he's one of my roommates," Hiter said.

"So he's very quick off the line. I mean, I feel like nobody can guard him as soon as he gets to the open field."Johnson was a four-star wide receiver who made a strong impression from the duo's shared home state of Virginia. He didn't see any targets in the spring game but did have one carry for four yards.

Hiter was also asked if he, himself, was the fastest player on the Wolverines, but again, he deferred, simply stating that Johnson may have that title, as well.While Johnson's emergence in year one remains to be seen, Hiter is expected to play a big role, having already secured the No. 2 spot on the depth chart behind Jordan Marshall.
