Reading and Cardiff City met at the SCL Stadium on Saturday [Getty Images]Two men were arrested and charged with offences after a major police operation for Cardiff City's visit to Reading on Saturday.Thames Valley Police used Section 35 dispersal orders, drones and police dogs for the League One fixture, which saw the Bluebirds promoted back to the Championship after their 3-1 win.Gareth Whitehouse, 41, of Cardiff, was arrested on suspicion of being threatening or abusive in a way which is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and charged on Sunday. Lewis Campbell-Williams, 20, of Headcorn, Kent, was also charged on Sunday with possession of a bladed article and theft from a shop.Both were bailed to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court on 3 June.PC Steve Mountain, the dedicated football officer for Reading FC, said: "We would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation while the Section 35 dispersal orders were in place."The dispersal orders were enacted as a preventative measure to help ensure the safety of fans and local communities in the area."
