CBS Sports looked back on the draft history of the Bucs and the choice for the team's best pick in recent memory may sting.

The NFL Draft is the best and worst moments for franchises and fans alike. The draft offers renewed optimism for both parties, as they feel any of these picks, especially those made in the first three rounds, could be a game-changer. These are the players you feel can tip the scales in your favor, put you over the hump, or at the very least provide some playmaking.

However, not every draft pick works out for fans and the teams; in fact, more often than not, they do not. That being said, there are always some picks that stand out above the rest. The recent work of CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo dove into that as he highlighted the Bucs best and worst draft picks in recent memory.

Ironically, the best pick is one that is going to sting for fans, which is Mike Evans. The current San Francisco 49ers wide receiver was drafted into the league in 2014, coming out of Texas A&M. DeArdo wrote up why he is the team's best draft pick, saying, "While he is embarking on a new chapter with the 49ers, Evans left a lasting impact with the Buccaneers, his team during his first 11 NFL seasons.

Evans, the franchise's career receiving leader in just about every significant category, was tabbed as the fourth-greatest player in the franchise's 50-year history ahead of the 2025 season. He played a key role in the Buccaneers' second Super Bowl win in 2020."It will sting fans seeing this, but maybe dwell on the times you had? You will get a moment together again when he returns and ends up in Canton, Ohio. This article originally appeared on Bucs Wire: Mike Evans viewed as the best pick in recent history for Bucs
