After a slow start to Day 3 of the NFL draft, the action has become fast and furious for the Tennessee Titans in the past few minutes, and they were quickly back on the clock after selecting defensive tackle Jackie Marshall with pick No. 184. With pick No. 194, the Titans selected center Pat Coogan out of Indiana.Coogan may not be the most athletic center in this class, but he is a technically sound prospect who anchored the offensive line for Indiana’s National Championship team. Another high character draft pick, Coogan has tremendous football IQ and is a leader of men.
Coogan does bring some experience to a position of need for the Titans and should be able to come in and compete for a roster spot early in his career. He may not have the upside some teams look for, but he profiles as a solid interior presence and another strong locker-room addition. This closes out the Titans' sixth round picks and has one selection remaining in the seventh round.
