The sci-fi drama La Brea follows a group of strangers who end up getting trapped in a sinkhole in Los Angeles. The group begins a gritty battle of survival, dealing with mysterious things.
It opened to mixed reviews and ran for three seasons from 2021 to 2024. After three installments, the show was cancelled, reportedly due to declining viewership and high production costs due to filming in Australia. Moreover, the series was affected by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
This led to NBC opting for a short final season to release actors from their contracts so they could look for new opportunities. Thus, Season 3 had a shortened 6-episode story to conclude the storyline. Additionally, Will Smith’s Hitch arrives on the streaming platform.
It follows the life of a professional dating coach who teaches men the art of wooing women. His methods are then challenged by a gossip columnist as he falls in love with her.
