When Alan Ritchson was cast as Jack Reacher in Prime Video's aptly titled Reacher, anyone who had read Lee Child's novels knew that Amazon had a winner on their hands. Tom Cruise tried playing the highly adept, former military vigilante. But his two outings (2012's Jack Reacher and 2016's Jack Reacher: Never Go Back) were slated by critics and polarized the fan base.

Ritchson is now synonymous with Reacher, and has since been somewhat type-cast as a muscle-bound action hero (see The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Netflix's recent War Machine). But years before he saved the action thriller franchise, Alan Ritchson starred in another three-season show, and it's safe to say that was quite different.
