ECONOMYNEXT – There have been no discussions on asking the Sri Lanka Cricket Board chairman to resign, cabinet spokesman minister Nalinda Jayatissa said. “Neither the government, the president or the sports minister, nor I as the spokesman, have said anything about this,” he told reporters when questioned about it. “There have been no official discussions about it.” “If there were discussions on such resignations and appointments we are prepared to inform you.” A Sri Lankan daily newspaper had reported that President Anura Kumara Disanayake had asked SLC chairman Shammi Silva to resign, and was appointing an interim committee headed by former deputy minister Eran Wickramaratne.
