There are countless gaming franchises, but few have risen to the same level of fame in the last 10–15 years as Assassin’s Creed. The first Assassin’s Creed game came out all the way back in 2007, and now, nearly 20 years later, the franchise continues to evolve with new releases. What started as smaller-scale, more intimate stealth-based games has blossomed into grand RPGs, but this change hasn’t sat well with everyone. Some Assassin’s Creed fans continue to push for the franchise to return to its roots with games like Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, which are not only smaller in scale and shorter in story, but also focused more on stealth and less on upgrading a character in ways that one would in an RPG.
