The Chicago Bears traded up in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft to select Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad, where they got insane value and a physical, instinctual player in the secondary.Muhammad will join a cornerback group that is led by Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon, and he'll get the opportunity to compete for the outside starting cornerback job with veterans Tyrique Stevenson and Terell Smith.Muhammad may have instantly became a fan-favorite with a wild quote when asked about his style of play. Known for his lockdown coverage and shutdown ability, Muhammad will have to keep penalties reduced, and while his speed or size is not at the elite level, his confidence certainly is.

Muhammad referred to himself as an old-school type of player, with a wild line right after that, as to what he plans to do as a player."When it's time to put your nuts on the floor, you got to go dominate," he said, via Chris Emma. It's hard to doubt that the city of Chicago and the hardcore Bears fanbase won't immediately get behind him in full support, showing a brash attitude with a quote that very much fits the personality of them all. Muhammad will have great veterans to learn from, especially Johnson and Gordon, but the biggest key will be what he can do learning from defensive backs coach Al Harris, who helped lead Nahshon Wright to a career year that ended in a Pro Bowl selection.Follow Bears Wire on Twitter, Facebook and InstagramThis article originally appeared on Bears Wire: Bears rookie Malik Muhammad just became a fan favorite with this quote
