He finished the season completing 63.4% of his passes and threw just 10 touchdowns to seven interceptions. But Gronowski did damage with his legs, rushing for a team-high 16 touchdowns.
Gronowski's intangibles are an important part of what he brings to the table. His grit and perseverance were apparent during the season as he played through a knee injury. Gronowski's game is not flashy, but he orchestrated victory, leading the Hawkeyes to a 9-4 record against a challenging schedule. Even in such a short time in the program, Gronowski established himself as a respected leader.Despite his accomplishments at the college level, Gronowski was not invited to the 2026 NFL Combine.Mark Gronowski scouting report via Steelers DepotStrengthsGreat experience at both FCS and FBS level with South Dakota State and IowaGood size, sturdy build for the positionPlays with good timing and rhythm; quick decision maker with the footballSmooth, efficient ball-handling skills; sells play-action fakes and RPOs wellTough-as-nails quarterback who brings steady leadershipNice pop on short-to-intermediate throwsGood mechanics ensure that he has sound base underneath him on the move to make accurate throws; will drive balls well outside the numbersWeaknessesArm strength tends to wane on throws down the field; ball will flutter and dieStruggled with accuracy at Iowa; scattershot at times on quick throws and didn’t driving balls well off play-action, leaving throws shortTends to stare down receivers, particularly to the perimeterUnwavering belief in his arm and ability to fit passes into tight windows can cost him on throws outside the numbersMost of big-play strikes downfield at Iowa came due to busted coveragesOlder prospect at the quarterback positionNot an overly dynamic runner; more of a plodder with some power between the tacklesMark Gronowski measurablesHeight: 6'2"Weight: 226 lbsMark Gronowski Steelers Depot GradeSteelers Depot Grade: 6.7 (Pure Backup)Mark Gronowski highlightsFollow Tyler Tachman on X @Tyler_T15, contact via email at ttachman@gannett.comThis article originally appeared on Des Moines Register: Dolphins expected to sign Iowa QB Mark Gronowski: Highlights, stats
