Dan Simpson, a 68-year-old Domino’s delivery driver, went viral earlier this year for going above and beyond to buy a two-litre Diet Coke for a customer who ran out of the beverage. Simpson went across the street to a nearby convenience store to buy the drink with his own money instead of showing up at their house empty-handed. The delivery driver received a lot of praise after doorbell camera footage of his delivery went viral on TikTok.
In the month since the video was posted, a GoFundMe page set up to help Simpson has earned over $168K. Now, Domino’s wants to take advantage of the positive moment to give back. As revealed to Dexerto on April 22, 2026, Domino’s and The Coca-Cola Company are collaborating to provide free Coca-Cola for a limited period of time in honor of “Dan the Man’s” widely shared act of kindness.

“We believe that sometimes the smallest actions can have the biggest impact, and this is our way of continuing the spirit of generosity, inspired by Dan.” After working as a Domino’s delivery driver for over a decade, Dan Simpson went viral for his dedication to making the perfect delivery. Simpson noticed an incomplete order on what had begun as a typical Friday night in Boise, full of pizza orders. Two 20-oz Diet Cokes were ordered by a couple, however they were not available at that specific Domino’s.
Simpson made the extra effort to pick up the item for the couple from a nearby store. The Boise couple gave Simpson a generous tip because they were so impressed by his willingness to go above and beyond. However, one half of the couple, Brian Wilson, started a GoFundMe because they were aware they could raise more.

That level of care and kindness is rare these days,” Wilson wrote on GoFundMe. Over the next few days, Wilson and Simpson got to know one another.
Simpson revealed that, as he gets ready to retire, delivery driving has been his second job for a while. Wilson and the community agreed that Simpson’s wish to retire would be best supported by this GoFundMe. The GoFundMe reached its target in no time, and the story became viral as well.
As of writing, the page for Simpson had raised $168,000, according to KTVB7. The customers behind the viral doorbell footage told local news sites that they both have vision impairments, which make basic tasks like getting a two-litre bottle of Coke much more difficult than they would be for most people. They stated, “What may have seemed like a tiny inconvenience to solve on his end actually made a huge difference on ours.” Sign up to receive the Daily Dot’s Internet Insider newsletter for urgent news from the frontline of online.
