Doctor Who: 892 episodes, one official TV movie, and several specials, providing us with multiple decades' worth of time travel fun. But, unfortunately, not all of it is available to viewers. The 63-year-old sci-fi franchise is incredibly lore-heavy, and that's just based on the show alone.

While the show's canon generally takes precedence, the Big Finish audio dramas and Doctor Who novelizations also add a huge amount of detail and character development to the franchise. Today, audiences are grateful for Doctor Who's extended media, especially as it fills in some of the gaps.
