It took until late in the NFL Draft, but a former Metro Detroit standout finally heard his name called.Deion Burks, a wide receiver who played at Belleville High School, was drafted late in the seventh round by the Indianapolis Colts. Burks went 38th in the seventh round, and 254th overall.Burks, 23, played his last two seasons of college ball at Oklahoma, starting all 13 games in 2025. During his senior season, he had 57 receptions for 620 yards and four touchdowns.

He had 107 receiving yards plus a TD in a College Football Playoff game against Alabama. As a junior, he played only five games because of injury.Burks, 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds, started his college career at Purdue, where he played from 2021-23.
