That should help kick-start the Raiders’ rebuild, which No. 1 overall pick and the team’s new quarterback Fernando Mendoza will be the face of.
Mendoza also enters the 2026 season with the second-best odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year at +320, according to our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook. Here is a quick look at Las Vegas’ 2026 draft class:Day 1There were no surprises at the top of the draft, as it’s been known for months that the Heisman Trophy winner is going to be wearing silver and black this fall. Now, the question becomes if he’ll be the Week 1 starter, or if the coaching staff wants to ease the rookie along and roll with Kirk Cousins to begin the campaign.Round 1, pick 1:Fernando Mendoza, QB, IndianaDay 2For the second year in a row, John Spytek traded back at the top of the second round.
Granted, this year’s move wasn’t nearly as significant, sliding back just two draft spots. That allowed the Raiders to bolster their defensive backfield with Treydan Stukes and then pick up an additional third-round pick to reinforce the offensive line with Trey Zuhn III. Sandwiched in the middle of those two was a high upside pass-rusher, Keyron Crawford.Round 2, pick 38:Treydan Stukes, DB, ArizonaRound 3, pick 67:Keyron Crawford, EDGE, AuburnRound 3, pick 91: Trey Zuhn III, OL, Texas A&MDay 3The trades didn’t stop on the final day of the draft, as Spytek made a deal before Saturday’s action got started to bat leadoff in the fourth round.
That resulted in what could be the best value pick of the entire weekend, snagging a first-round talent, Jermod McCoy. Additionally, another trade was made to get a running mate for Ashton Jeanty, and Tyree Wilson and Las Vegas’ seventh-round pick were sent to the New Orleans Saints for another fifth-rounder to take another former Arizona defensive back. Then, it was the fourth defensive back in the team’s first eight picks, before wrapping up the draft by finally adding a defensive tackle.Round 4, pick 101:Jermod McCoy, CB, TennesseeRound 4, pick 122:Mike Washington Jr., RB, ArkansasRound 5, pick 175:Dalton Johnson, SAF, ArizonaRound 5, pick 150:Hezekiah Masses, CB, CalRound 6, pick 195:Malik Benson, WR, OregonRound 7, pick 229: Brandon Cleveland, DT, NC State
