We have insta-grades from three members of the Arrowhead Pride Draft Team.Caleb JamesEmmet Johnson draft grade: BFor the second time in this draft, the Chiefs did not want to take any chances by letting a player they liked fall, so they traded up to land their guy. With a big junior season at Nebraska, Johnson distinguished himself as one of the top running backs in the draft class, but with less-than-stellar athletic testing, he appears to have caused him to slip to day three in the draft.Despite this, Johnson’s ability to avoid tacklers, combined with great downfield vision, will make him a good fit for the Chiefs’ zone run looks, as well as his ability to catch the football in space.

His ability to use jump-cuts and shift his speed to throw off defenders will be a good compliment to Kenneth Walker.Johnson can develop into a solid RB2 behind Kenneth Walker and be a player who can provide Kansas City with Explosive plays.Grade: BRocky MaganaThis is my favorite pick of the draft. I thought Johnson was clearly the second-best RB in college football last season behind Jeremiyah Love. Johnson’s own coaching staff compared him to their version of Christian McCaffrey because of his ability to both run and catch the ball.Johnson runs well between the tackles for a player his size, largely due to his great lateral agility and exceptional vision.

He is great at negotiating traffic and getting the most out of every touch. While he is not blisteringly fast, he plays at full speed and does not have to shift down to change directions. Johnson is the perfect solution to spell Kenneth Walker III.Johnson very well may be the best offensive player taken on day 3 when it’s all said and done.Grade: A+
