It has been a rollercoaster two nights for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings traded away Jonathan Greenard to the Philadelphia Eagles for a pair of third-round picks, and the picks so far have been defensive tackle Caleb Banks, linebacker Jake Golday, defensive lineman Domonique Orange, and offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan at pick 97. What does the grade look like for Tiernan in the 2026 NFL Draft?I'm not so sure taking a depth piece over a position of need, like secondary, is the best plan.
The grade Tiernan is going to get may not reflect the player himself, but rather be based on needs. This team needs help at cornerback and secondary, and the refusal to take a player in those roles is questionable. The Tiernan pick gets a C-, as there are way bigger needs than a backup tackle/guard. While he has upside to develop into a starter, the position of pick leaves fans wanting more. This article originally appeared on Vikings Wire: Grading the Vikings selection of OT Caleb Tiernan in 2026 NFL Draft
