The selection wasn’t expected in large part because they used their top pick last year to get Abdul Carter, plus they already paid to extend Brian Burns and have Kayvon Thibodeaux on the roster.
It looks like the room is a little too crowded now, and the Giants are engaging in trade conversations for the latter defender, Thibodeaux.Sources: The #Giants have engaged in trade conversations involving DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, and the #Saints are among the teams showing strong interest. If a deal happens, it could be as soon as tonight. There were rumors that the Eagles and Vikings might finalize a trade to send Greenard to Philadelphia on Day 2 of the draft, but Thibodeaux being available may change up the Eagles’ approach.Thibodeaux is heading into his fifth season in the league, and through the first four years of his rookie contract, has amassed 152 total tackles, 55 QB hits, 23.5 sacks, 13 pass breakups, six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and was a finalist for Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022. The Giants did pick up the DE’s fifth-year option for 2026, so he could be looking for a contract extension in addition to any trade that goes through.
Still, it’s an intriguing option. What do you think: Should the Eagles trade for DE Kayvon Thibodeaux? Let us know in the comments.
