Kunal Kapoor is set to appear in a special role in Ek Din, backed by Aamir Khan Productions. The film features Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles and is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1. Speaking about how he came on board, Kunal Kapoor said, “Sai always delivers solid performances, and Junaid has done very well too.

I just have a special appearance in the film. Aamir reached out and was keen that I be part of it, and it was a role I enjoyed stepping into.” He also described the film as “a warm and a sweet film” that he believes will connect with audiences. Kapoor also spoke about Junaid Khan’s approach to his work, noting his focus and consistency.

“I’ve seen Junaid as a young boy, and now here he is, not just acting but taking on the responsibility of producing the film as well. He is incredibly focused and hardworking. Only the work matters to him.

I think he’s got a long road ahead,” he said. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey, who previously worked as an assistant director on Rang De Basanti, where Kapoor was part of the cast. Reflecting on this connection, the actor said, “One of the reasons the film is special to me is the director, Sunil,” adding, “There is something really nice about these full circle moments, where you end up working with the people you started off with.” Alongside Ek Din, Kunal Kapoor is also expected to be seen in Ramayana, where he plays the role of Lord Indra.

Meanwhile, Ek Din has generated interest for its tone and music, with its trailer highlighting a quieter, emotional narrative. Also Read: Jewel Thief actor Kunal Kapoor on breaking language barriers in Indian Cinema: “The whole country is our playground, every story worth telling is our story”
