Even after almost 15 years, The Legend of Korra easily ranks among the most divisive stories in modern Western media; not only did it have the impossible task of living up to the legacy of Avatar: The Last Airbender, but to many people, Korra’s story decisions and overall style were generally off-putting, both as its own work and as a sequel, and with culture wars surrounding female protagonists still a thing, people have found even more reason to hate it in recent years.
