Afterward, Kohr was exasperated. “It’s so frustrating. We played such a fantastic first half and deservedly led 3-0. Bayern simply dismantled us completely in the second half with their quality.
We spent a lot of energy in the first half, and some of our players ran out of steam in the second. You can’t beat Bayern by playing only 45 minutes,” Kohr said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).This loss will string Mainz 05 for quite a while. It was all right there for them, until it wasn’t.
