Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has been on a lengthy hiatus for nearly a decade, even after three of the first four films became $1 billionbox-office hits. Centered on the legendary tales of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow, a sixth movie has been in and out of development for years, which would mark the first new story in this saga since 2017's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Unfortunately, even with much of the fandom expressing hope for another swashbuckling adventure, plenty of well-detailed struggles have kept the story from continuing.
